Auction of government assets

If we do not call out corrupt elements and name the avenues used by the corrupt, they will continue to comfortably plunder state resources. There is a trend in Government Ministries to auction off assets such as vehicles, computers, machinery etc. Now, what usually happens during the auctions is that cartels are created whereby the prices bidded for May be “falsely” higher than what is remitted; the difference is then illegally pocketed by auctioneers. The highest bidder would be in cahoots with an Officer/ auctioneer. Also, most of the marked vehicles are deliberately demobilised and listed for auction even when they have considerable life in them, or requiring minimal repairs (if any at all). Senior officers then end up getting these assets for a song. It happens everywhere. It is endemic to Goverment. ati ni va BOMA‽
