One day, early in the morning. I reported for work very happy because I had prepared my lesson well. However, before I could leave our office for class my fellow Head of Department stopped me and started telling me that he was going to leave the school. I become curious and ask, ” Dear, where are you going?” Seeing that I did not hear anything about transfers I wondered!  His response was simple, “Just know that!”

Due to the fact that it was election time as a philosopher, I jokingly said, “Let’s hope it’s not politics and politicians!” The way he turned round and looked at me. I knew I got him there! Well, who am I! Just a Nobody! Off I went to my class!

This was happening when the Opposition Leader was leading as the results were being announced! Worse PVT was showing in opposition’s favour.  You could imagine they anticipation (Joke Port!!).

Fast forward…  Many hours later the graph changed and my friend couldn’t even report for work and trying to check on him by calling, to no answer. At that time I knew that some people were promised heaven after the polls!

Year later, I brought the topic back in relation with corruption!  He was quick to discredit the ruling government and called it corrupt. He however, couldn’t really realize that had the political party he was supporting won, he couldn’t have been different.

This made me realize that corruption is mostly seen when it’s done by others!  Not, when if it’s us who are corrupt! May He Majesty Leza(God) save Zambia and Zambians!
