I wish to share my story on corruption, about this gentleman who is doing-Clinical Officer General (COG).

This happened to me that am engaged as a Social Mobilizer for Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC). VMMC monthly is being paid by Serving AIDS Free Era (SAFE-JSI). During the month of May we received the transport rebursement for each and everyone of us being the Provider, Assistant Provider, Counsellors, Hygiene and Hygiene and I as Social Mobilizer. For me it was K975($43.01) which is the very least compared to other cadres and himself, this guy came to me and directed me that I should go with him to market to do the withdrawal and I did tell him that it was working hour.

After knocking off, this guy Clinical Officer General (COG) started communicating with his colleagues, where he even directed me to give all the details to him. To cut the story short from the K975($43.01) he demanded K550 ($24.26) of which I refused. I asked him why he’s doing all that. He responded that he wants to give it to the facility in charge. Then I told him that we need to contribute from each and everyone who is part and parcel of the program. He got K500 ($22.06) by force from me. I reported him to the facility in charge who declined having received any ngwee from him. I did tell the sister in charge that am going to report him for corruption and she agreed that I should do that

When the month of June,2021 came for requesting for transport rebursement, he gave the claim form to a person that we don’t even know. After finding that I called him and ask him who the person was, he failed to answer me but ended up by saying that whatever he will get will give it to the facility in charge. I reported the incident to the facility in charge, who also declined having signed the claim forms. The 2nd in charge responded that on the material day Clinical Officer General brought (4) four papers for signing and two (2) more blanks for signing.

I also informed the facility in charge that am going to report him to ACC, because he’s a government employee, who is tarnishing the name of MoH. He’s fond of doing his businesses instead of working, that’s how his transfer was necessitated. This is what is happening on the Copperbelt Province.
